Now first off, I absolutely love Joe Dumars. I think he is undoubtedly one of the best NBA execs in the league. Not just one year wonders like say Danny Ainge or Mitch Kupchak, but a proven man in terms of putting together a great team for the past 6 years. Now he has made some proven mistakes when it comes to the draft, most notably Darko Milicic. But I think he excels when he doesn't have to make the early, big name marquee pick. Names like Maxiell and Stuckey were booed and questioned when first mentioned, but look at them now. Maxiell gave the Pistons great energy and defensive time this year and Stuckey could be the guard of the future.
Then again trading D.J. White for Walter "can't stay eligible" Sharpe is a little unsettling. The guy attended Miss. St before becoming academically ineligible during the middle of the year. This of course is the state school that pretty much lets in anyone who can spell out M-I-S-S-I-S-S-I-P-P-I. He then transfers to UAB, another top-notch academic institution and proceeds to only play in 12 games because he once again finds a spot on the academically ineligible roster. This guy better have some raw talent because the baggage that comes along with him is well you get the picture. Did I happen to mention Sharpe suffers from narcolepsy. YES, the sleeping disorder that is classified as excessive daytime sleepiness. HAHA. Can you picture ol Walter going up for a dunk during the Pistons Sunday day game on ABC and in mid-air suddenly falling asleep, clocking his noggin off the front rim. Dear lord help us God. Luckily the Pistons don't need much help next year as they will once again be a force in the Eastern Conference. Joe D, I love ya, but please prove me wrong with this guy.
